Why Indore is known for food in the world ?

Indories are all time bhukkard(foodies) people. But its not their fault as city is known for its food , the taste which you can have here , you can't get that taste anywhere else. Indore should be food capital of India as to have food all you need is to be hungry (& money too).

 When you are in Indore you will not only inhale oxygen; food aroma is inhaled too. There is so immense love for food in Indore that day & night doesn’t matter at all , all you need is to be hungry…..

 You can have delicious food in every street corner of Indore, as well as in restaurants. But mouthwatering taste of street food is unbeatable. There are many street food markets in Indore. One of them is Sarafa Chopatiwhich is pilgrimage for gluttons.

Sarafa Bazar is jewellery market in the day, which became Sarafa Chopati at night as food stalls are step up in front of closed shops. It is night food market but you will always find crowd as if it’s day.

It’s not only about common dishes like pav-bhaji, masala dosa, noodles, pani-puri, sandwiches…. It’s about unique dishes like butte ka kees , copra patties, fried samosa , special dahi vade, etc. There are also delighting deserts like Gulab Jamun , Rabdi, Malpua, Shikanji, Jalebi & drinks like coconut crush, oreo shake, kikkat shake etc.

Bhutte ka Kees

Bhutte (corn) ka kees is basically mashed corn mixed milk, water, added with different spices & pinch of sugar. Tantalize butte ka kees is loved in every season.

khopra Patties

This is very unique patties, which you can get only in Indore. Patties in which dry coconut (khopra) is stuffed in potato balls & served with tangy chutneys.

Fried Samosa

You might have eaten baked samosa, but in Indore you will get to eat something different, fried samosa. It is too triangular in shape, made up of Maida stuffed with spicy potatao filling.

Special Dahl Vada

Fried ball made of lentils drown in curd, tamarind chutney is poured over it & different spices are added these spices give it Indori touch. And when you are at Sarafa never miss Joshi ji Dahi Vade, because they are delighting as well as you will be amazed by watching his technique of serving it; where he adds all species in one go.

                               Here you will varieties of deserts, which are loved by everyone. You should not miss Shikanji & Jalebi. But how shikanji can be included in desert because it doesn’t taste sweet, as you are in Indore so you will get thick, creamy & very yummy made up of yogurt & milk with dry fruits, saffron in it. Jalebi is deep fried refined flour (Maida) in circular shape with crispy & crunchy texture, dipped in sugar syrup. It so big size that it is feast for your eyes.

There is another alluring place, Chappan Dukan which means 56 shops. Every shop at Chappan Dukan has toothsome food. Best of Chappan Dukan is....

Poha Jalebi, when you are in Indore you can’t miss Poha Jalebi. Day has good start if it’s started with it. Poha is flattened rice, which are made by adding tangy flavors, curry leaves, & garnished by Indori sev & lemon juice. Jalebi is also served with it. Sour & sweet both taste are balanced.

Hot dog, which is not at all like normal hot dog. It’s Indian version of hot dog. Round soft bread is toasted on tawa with butter, after bread is ready “aloo tikki” or “omelet” is put in. It’s on what you have ordered veg or non-veg hot dog. Served with chutney, tomato ketchup & onions

  Kolkata role, Fried veggies with blend of different sauces & spices, is wrapped in refined flour chapatti. These flavorsome rolls are equal to meal.

If you called yourself foodie & yet you have not visited Indore, then you do not have any right to call yourself foodie. Indore is heaven for food lovers. Once your stomach could be well fed but, wiliness for food & varieties of food will not come to end. Food is soul of Indore. We have food which you can never have anywhere else & the plus point that it is hygienic too. When you will visit Sarafa Chopati or Chappan Dukan or wherever you are having food cleanliness is maintained inside shops as well as outside. After all Indore is the cleanliest city of India.
